Medi Afric Offshore S.A.L.

An Odoo Rescue: Rebuilding a Misconfigured ERP the Right Way

Medi Afric is a hospital equipment distributor. How Leeway rescued their existing Odoo — replacing a poorly configured setup from a previous vendor with a clean, correctly built system on Odoo.sh, with validated data migrated across.

The Need

One clean system the team can trust.

Medi Afric distributes hospital and medical equipment, and needed its core operations working together in one coherent system — with clean data dependable enough for everyday decisions and reporting.

An Odoo they couldn't trust

Medi Afric already ran Odoo, but a previous vendor's implementation left configuration and data the team couldn't rely on.

The platform wasn't the problem

Odoo was the right system — the setup was the issue. It had drifted from good practice and no longer matched how the business worked.

Rebuild, not patch

Adjusting settings one at a time wouldn't undo the deeper problems. A clean, correctly configured rebuild was the right call.

The Rescue

An Odoo-to-Odoo rescue, done right.

Medi Afric was already on Odoo — but the inherited setup was misconfigured and hard to trust. Rather than keep patching it, Leeway rebuilt on a clean, correctly configured Odoo and migrated validated data across.

On Odoo.sh

1

Purchasing feeds inventory

Goods received update stock automatically, keeping availability accurate.

2

Sales draw on real stock

Orders are placed against inventory that reflects what is actually on hand.

3

Everything posts to accounting

Stock and commercial movements flow through to dependable financial records.

4

Customers stay connected

CRM and sales activity live in one workspace, not scattered across tools.

How It Was Done

A disciplined rescue and rebuild.

The rescue followed a clear path — audit the inherited setup, rebuild clean, migrate validated data, then connect — so the new Odoo started trustworthy and stayed that way.

1

Audit the inherited Odoo

Reviewed the existing setup to pinpoint what was misconfigured and which data the team couldn't trust.

2

Rebuild clean

Stood up a clean, correctly configured Odoo instead of patching the previous vendor's setup.

3

Migrate validated data

Cleaned and validated the data, then migrated it into the new environment so it started trustworthy.

4

Configure & connect

Set up Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Accounting, and CRM to work together and reconcile correctly.

Data quality, before and after

The clean rebuild lifted consistency and cut manual reconciliation.

Inventory and distribution operations

Distribution & Trading

Stock, purchasing, and finance reconciling on one clean foundation.

Data Integrity & Security

Clean data, kept that way.

A system of record is only as good as the data inside it. The rebuild was designed so records stay accurate, consistent, and trustworthy across every function.

Validated master data

Data was cleaned and validated before migration, so the new system started accurate rather than inheriting old errors.

Single source of truth

One coherent system means every function reads from the same trusted records — no conflicting versions to reconcile.

Stock that reconciles

Inventory and purchasing are configured so stock and orders line up correctly with what is happening operationally.

Dependable accounting

Accounting is set up for accurate financial records and reporting the team can stand behind.

Role-based access

Each team works within a connected workspace scoped to what their role needs across the unified system.

Clean, upgrade-friendly base

A well-structured foundation that stays maintainable and ready to build on as Medi Afric grows.

Hosting & Management

Rebuilt on Odoo.sh, managed by Leeway.

Medi Afric's rescued ERP runs on Odoo.sh — Odoo's own cloud platform — while Leeway operates it end to end: updates, backups, environments, and support.

Odoo.sh

The official Odoo cloud platform — Medi Afric's system is built, deployed, and scaled on Odoo's own managed infrastructure.

Managed updates & upgrades

Version updates and module upgrades are applied and tested by Leeway on Odoo.sh, keeping the platform current and secure.

Automated backups

Odoo.sh keeps regular backups of the database and filestore, so Medi Afric's records stay protected and recoverable.

Staging & production

Changes are validated on a staging environment before reaching production — no surprises on the live system.

Monitoring & support

Leeway monitors the environment and responds, keeping the ERP healthy and available day to day.
